Today Is Our Life - Memory Tapes

People keep saying chillwave is over. "Chillwave is over!", that's what they sound like. It was pronounced all but dead by pitchfork when they slapped a 3.8 rating on MillionYoung's new album, proclaiming dramatically that there may be no future in the genre. Step in Dayve Hawk, a man named after a bird who in 2009 released 'Seek Magic' under the moniker Memory Tapes - probably my favourite chillwave album and also one of my favourites of 2009. If there's anyone who can save chillwave's poor little chillaxing soul then it's him, and judging from his excellent new song "Today Is Our Life", Memory Tapes' upcoming album may well be just as good as the first. This one's got sick synth hooks all over the place, and much like the best stuff on Seek Magic the song culminates in a euphoric climax. Listen to it and chill

At first I thought there was something wrong with my speakers... Then I realised this was not supposed to be pure dubstep. :D A cool piece though.
